Summary: The author got to know a few octopuses in a New England aquarium in order to study and write about the intelligence of octopuses. But her story ended up so much more than just a description of intelligence. It was one of friendship and grief as well.
My thoughts: Loved this book. The author was so heartfelt in all she said – it was obvious that she really loved her friends, the octopuses. There was a good mixture of facts about octopuses and her personal experiences with them, making the book both intellectually engaging and personal.

I have heard good things about this book. It certainly sounds different. The Octopus thing sounds both interesting and odd. It is also unusual to combine that with what sounds like a personal account. I might give this a try.

Not heard of this book but loved she was able to connect to the octopus she studied. Her taking the time to watch and learn from these sea creatures relates to us and those around us. Thanks Rachel. ❤️❤️

You’re welcome! This is not the first time that I’ve heard about how easy it is to relate to an octopus. They are apparently very intelligent and have personalities of their own.
